Las Vegas 7's - 2011

Every year except one since we've been married, Kuso has gone to the International Rugby Tournament. It used to be held in San Diego, CA, but last year, they changed it to Las Vegas, NV. Since it is so close and because I wanted to, I was able to join him this year (and from now on.) We left Friday February 11 after work and stayed in St. George. Left early Saturday morning and went straight to the stadium to watch rugby all day.

After two days of playing these are the final results:
Samoa won the plate over Kenya 26-15
Scottland won the bowl over Canada 19-14
United States won the shield over Japan 19-12
South Africa won the bowl over Fiji 24-14
Kuso and Friends.
Above you can see #4 AIONO! He had just scored. #7 is Uale Mai. He is the BEST. His sister is married to one of Kuso's good friends and classmate. Uale's picture is all over billboards in Samoa!
This is Kuso's hat he designed to show his Samoan Pride.

Me, Ana, Kuso, Whitney, Kuso's friend and some random drunk guy!
Our nieces are gorgeous.
More friends. The guy with the crazy hair in the middle served his mission the same time as Kuso.
More Friends.
More Friends.

I don't know where the picture went I took of Kuso "leading" the Samoan section in cheers and songs while Samoa played in their final game. He lost his voice for the next several days. Because he was so loud and wild, they put him on the big screen several times. Also, after the tournament was over, 3 different groups of people (none of which we knew) came over to take pictures with him. He was a celebrity (of sorts.)
The next weekend, they had a fundraiser for that player, #7 Uale Mai. This is him and Kuso at the fundraiser.
We left Leila home with my parents. It was REALLY hard to leave her knowing we wouldn't see her for 4 days, but it was such a nice break to not be responsible for anything but ourselves. We were able to sleep in, take a nap, enjoy talking to each other, hanging out in Vegas with our close friends the Uta'i's (not sure what happened to those pictures), all without having to worry about diapers or naps or eating schedules. We missed the Leila bug, that that weekend alone was good for our relationship. We plan on doing this every year. A little weekend away, with some fun, without any kids. Thanks mom and dad for helping out so much!
